Grooming and Hygiene

Grooming and hygiene are crucial skills for social integration – making friends, going to school, and interacting with other people in every way. But the daily living skills of toileting, nasal hygiene, bathing, hand washing, tooth brushing, and hair brushing can be a learning challenge for children with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities. Children may require constant reinforcement and creativity to stay motivated.

The goal of occupational therapy is greater independence in all environments and all areas of life. At CTS, our occupational therapists will work with your family and child to develop a learning program that works.
